Transport Sector Achievements Recognised at Regional and International Level
A series of recent international awards recognises the performance and ongoing work of several State-Owned Enterprises under the Ministry of Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation highlighting Seychelles’ transport sector.
The Ministry acknowledges the contributions of the teams within these organisations whose efforts have supported the sector’s development and it’s standing internationally.
Air Seychelles has been named Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline 2026 and Indian Ocean’s Leading Cabin Crew 2026 at the World Travel Awards. These dual awards recognise the national carrier’s service standards, operational reliability and the professionalism of its cabin crew, contributing to Seychelles’ profile in regional and international aviation.
Port Victoria, managed by the Seychelles Ports Authority, has been named Indian Ocean’s Leading Cruise Port for an eighth consecutive year. The award was announced at the World Travel Awards ceremony held at CROSSROADS Maldives on 27 September 2026. Seychelles also received the title of Indian Ocean’s Leading Cruise Destination, underscoring the country’s position within the regional cruise sector.
At Seychelles International Airport, operated by the Seychelles Airports Authority, the facility has retained its ACI Airport Customer Experience Accreditation – Level 2 for a third consecutive year. The accreditation reflects continued attention to passenger experience through process improvement and service standards.
The Seychelles Airports Authority further received two awards at the inaugural ACI Africa Passenger Facilitation & Readiness Excellence Awards 2026 in Abuja, Nigeria: The Processes Award and the Innovation & Transformation Award. These recognise efforts to streamline airport operations, improve passenger facilitation and apply innovation and technology in support of more efficient airport processes.
These outcomes reflect the work of teams across Air Seychelles, the Seychelles Ports Authority and the Seychelles Airports Authority.
The Ministry continues to prioritise the maintenance of standards, the adoption of appropriate innovations and the further development of Seychelles’ position in the global transport and tourism sectors.
