Dr. Jan Robinson is a marine scientist with over 27 years of experience and currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Fishing Authority (SFA). He has extensive expertise in fisheries science and management, having previously led research at SFA and managed major regional and international fisheries projects, including the World Bank-funded SWIOFish3 Project and initiatives supporting sustainable fisheries development in the Indian Ocean.
Dr. Robinson holds a PhD in Coral Reef Studies from James Cook University, an MSc in Applied Marine Science from the University of Plymouth, and a BSc in Marine Biology from Swansea University. His work has focused on coral reef ecology, climate change, fisheries management, and the advancement of Seychelles’ blue economy. He is the author of over 35 peer-reviewed scientific articles and has chaired several scientific bodies under Regional Fisheries Management Organisations, contributing valuable expertise in marine conservation and sustainable resource management.
