Ms. Rajelle Barbe heads the recently created department, overseeing environmental compliance, sustainability and health and safety across all port facilities and operations. Her department also ensures that SPA monitors and manages the impact of port operations on the environment, society at large and on the safety of port workers. Initially, she joined SPA as the Environment and Social Impact Manager for the Port Victoria Rehabilitation & Extension Project. Ms Barbe holds a First Class Honours Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a Professional Diploma in Sustainable Port Management. She has over 7 years’ experience implementing environmental and climate resilience donor funded projects and also working on environment projects funded by the United National Development Programme.
