Ms. Sophie Belle is the Chief Economist at the Ministry of Finance, where she heads the Macroeconomic Forecasting and Analysis Division. She brings over nine years of experience in economic policy, macroeconomic forecasting, fiscal analysis, and economic research. In her role, she leads the preparation of macroeconomic forecasts, monitors economic trends, conducts policy analysis, and provides strategic advice to support evidence-based government decision-making.

Ms. Belle holds a Master’s Degree in International Business Economics (with Distinction) from the University of Sussex and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Business Management from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. She serves as a Board Member of the Seychelles Ports Authority (SPA) and the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA), contributing her expertise in economic analysis, strategic planning, and corporate governance. Her knowledge of economic trends and policy frameworks provides valuable insight in supporting effective decision-making and sustainable development within the organisations she serves.
