SPA’s involvement in the fishing industry is in the concept of a one-stop- shop to ensure that vessels prefer calling to Port Victoria. SPA makes provisions for net repair facilities to vessels that intend to drop their nets for both minor and major repairs.

Government’s approach for zone 14 (Ile du Port) is to transform the facility into a hub for the tuna fishing industry.
