Mr. Nicholas Sinon joined SPA in August 2020 as a Technical Specialist in the Harbour Master’s Office. He was subsequently appointed Director of Port Operations and Engineering Services and later took on additional responsibility for Technical Operations. A seasoned Marine Engineer, Mr Sinon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine and Plant Engineering, a Chief Engineer (Unlimited) Class 1 Certificate of Competency, and a Diploma in Port Management. He brings extensive seagoing and technical experience from the German Tanker Shipping Company, where he served on Oil and Chemical Tankers owned by Seychelles Petroleum Company (SEYPEC). In his current role, Mr Sinon oversees two critical functions within the Authority. As Director of Port Operations, he is responsible for the overall management of all SPA port facilities and terminals. Concurrently, as Director of Technical Operations, he leads engineering services across SPA facilities and motor vehicles and manages the marine engineering of the Authority’s fleet, including tugboats and pilot boats.
